Steve Bone: Biography

Steve has been the company's Charitable Planning Services Director and the administrator of our charitable trusts and foundations for over three years. Recently he also became our Director of Marketing. He is a nationally recognized author and speaker on the technical and legal aspects of charitable gift planning. For over 18 years he has consulted with donors and their attorneys, financial and other professional advisors to ensure the correct design, drafting implementation and administration of charitable trusts and gifts.

Charitable trust administrator, Renaissance Inc. of Indianapolis, IN employed Steve from 1989 to 1999.He created the company's CRT document-drafting service, managed the production of over 4,200 customized CRT document orders for donors' attorneys during his ten year tenure, and provided general in-house counsel services. He also served as a registered lobbyist who successfully promoted Indiana legislation that enhanced and protected the company's charitable gift administration business and objectives.

Formerly, Steve was the Senior Counsel for Thornburg Foundation Realty, Inc. of Santa Fe, NM, where he helped to launch a novel REIT concept for solving the problems associated with charitable gifts of debt-encumbered commercial real estate; an associate and of counsel to the Baltimore law firm of Kallina & Associates; and the Regional Vice President - §1031 Exchange Programs for Wells Real Estate Funds of Atlanta, GA, where he marketed that company's §1031 securitized TIC offerings across the country. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Practical Estate Planning
